Descrizione

Since 2003, tVNS Technologies GmbH (Germany) has developed advanced medical devices for non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation (tVNS®). Their device, tVNS® E, is certified as a Class IIa medical device under EU MDR, and targets neurological conditions through a safe, patient-friendly, drug-free approach. Our tVNS® E stimulates the branch of the vagus nerve in the auricle through the skin with gentle electrical impulses. The signals are transmitted to the brain via special nerve fibers: first to the brain stem and then to higher centers. Treatment with tVNS® E is carried out independently by the patient after an introduction. It has already been used by thousands of patients and is a treatment with very few side effects. It is indicated for the treatment of anxiety, atrial fibrillation, autism, cognitive impairment, depression, epilepsy, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, Parkinson's disease, Prader-Willi syndrome, sleep disorders, systemic sclerosis and tinnitus. Besides the tVNS® E device we provide research solutions. The tVNS® R device offers full wireless programmability for comprehensive clinical studies. With the tVNS® Research and tVNS® Patient apps, the adjustment of stimulation parameters, data acquisition and patient feedback can be seamlessly integrated. We also offer a comprehensive CB safety report for obtaining ethics committee approvals and access to a global network of experts for the implementation of clinical trials. Some core features and offerings: • Full wireless parameter programmability and triggered tVNS®: The tVNS® Research App allows you to wirelessly set a variety of parameters such as frequency, pulse width, current intensity and stimulation intervals. In addition, we offer a separate PC-based tVNS® Manager software. This software enables the response to external trigger signals (e.g. ECG R-wave trigger generated by an external ECG system and transmitted to a PC). Thus, tVNS® with closed loop or triggered tVNS® can be realized in a scientific setup. • Research and patient app: With your tVNS® R device you have access to the tVNS® Research and the tVNS® Patient app. With the tVNS® Research app, all technical parameters can be easily reprogrammed and transmitted wirelessly, allowing the researcher to try out completely new stimulation protocols. In addition, you can collect and store technical and patient data. The tVNS® Patient App automatically stores all technical data (stimulation parameters, time and duration of stimulation, etc.) and provides a questionnaire for patient feedback. • Customization and support for studies: We offer customization of all components of the device for specific studies, e.g. by changing the questionnaire to allow for better patient feedback or by implementing special stimulation parameters or other technical ideas. We can provide you with a CB report that demonstrates safety according to all medical device standards to assist you with ethical approvals. So far it has been accepted by all ethics committees. In addition, we offer an international network of experts and can refer any questions to experienced people around the world. • Legacy and Hooke electrode: The Hooke electrode enables better fixation and ease of use during active tasks. It also allows patients to wear headphones. The Legacy electrode can be used if the patient has small ears or a special ear shape. The integrated slider enables a better fit to the ear. • Sham stimulation and fMRI compatibility: In the pursuit of scientific accuracy and integrity, we offer sham stimulation options for conducting double-blind studies. The well-known sham stimulation on the earlobe is still possible. We also support studies with other, more sophisticated sham stimulation options upon request. We also offer fMRI-compatible electrodes.
