Impulsivity is a frequently underestimated but significant aspect of Parkinson's disease that can strongly influence decision-making, emotion regulation, and daily life. This webinar explores the prevalence and different manifestations of impulsive and compulsive behaviors in Parkinson's – including impulsive buying, gambling, hypersexuality, binge eating, and medication-related impulses. Participants will gain insights into the neurobiological basis of impulsivity, its connection to dopaminergic therapy, and its impact on patients and their families. Furthermore, evidence-based strategies for early detection, diagnosis, and treatment will be presented, including behavioral therapy approaches, medication adjustments, and supportive measures. The webinar is aimed at physicians, therapists, researchers, and healthcare professionals and provides practical tools and current knowledge to better understand, classify, and treat impulsivity in Parkinson's disease.
